The benefits of music and the study of music are numerous—it optimizes brain development, promotes physical coordination, increases cognitive skills, improves social interaction, and brings joy. Music offers students many opportunities to grow and flourish as they participate. Structured similarly to the Grade Level 1 Music course, the Grade Level 2 Music course focuses on encouraging tuneful singing, increasing pitch accuracy, developing smooth, rhythmic gross-motor movement, learning excellent music, interacting with varied styles of music within historical context, learning to read music, audiation, and enjoying music from various cultural heritages.

Music Teacher Text includes an outline of the goals for the Rafiki Music Curriculum grades 1 through 3, an overview of the benefits of music education, detailed descriptions and explanations of the lesson schedule and components, and a Lyrics Appendix. Each lesson includes student objectives, biblical worldview integration, a list of materials needed, a greeting and closing song, patterns (audio and visual), and instructions for the specific lesson content.
Music audio files, delivered via a USB flash drive, are a curated list of songs and music files used in the curriculum.
Music Demo DVD | This teacher resource provides individual videos demonstrating activities and practices such as head voice singing, body percussion patterns, rhythm and singing patterns, songs, dance movements, improvisation, and instrumental techniques.
Music Flash Cards is a set of 53 melodic and rhythmic patterns taught over the course of the year.
